For economics geeks like me, today is like the NFL draft, when your team gets a new quarterback. Yesterday, the Senate confirmed Janet Yellen as the new Chairman of the Federal Reserve. She is the first woman to hold this position, which is in itself a pretty great thing. Let's all hope she's up to the task.
Her predecessor, Ben Bernanke, held the position during an extremely difficult period in economic history. While he was far from perfect, I myself think he did a great job considering just how bad things were back in early 2009. Here's a one minute video tribute. ~ FSB
