I read this article on a Wall Street Journal blog this morning:  Can you Sum Up Your Investing Philosophy in 10 Words?  It's well worth a look. Here are a couple of my favorite 10 word or less investment philosophies:
"Anything is possible, and the unexpected is inevitable. Proceed accordingly."
                          –  Jason Zweig, author of article
"Invest for the long term and ignore interim aggravation."
                         – Charles D. Ellis, director, Greenwich Associates, and author,
                            “Winning the Loser’s Game”
"Do the math. Expect catastrophes. Whatever happens, stay the course."
                       – William J. Bernstein, Efficient Frontier Advisors, and author,
                          “The Four Pillars of Investing”

And here is my entry:
"If it sounds too good to be true, it is."
